Electric Vehicles & Charging
Electric Vehicles
Depending on your vehicle needs and driving habits, an EV can be a great addition to your household. They require less maintenance, save money on gas, have better acceleration and can be charged at home each night. Furthermore, they don't pollute our air and don't rely on energy production from outside our region.
For a comprehensive list of EV's, with tax credits, see this link from Mt Parks Electric.
The IRS has been working on defining which vehicles get which tax credits based on battery materials and components. Check here for the latest from the IRS.
Colorado provides a $2,000 tax credit for new EVs and plug-in hybrids, unrelated to where the vehicle is assembled or the battery components.
EV Charging
Why pay for expensive gas when you can charge up at home every night. Home EV chargers and installation are eligible for rebates up to $500 from Mountain Parks Electric and a federal tax credit.
